The Software Engineering Research Group of the Alpen-Adria-University Klagenfurt is offering twopositions as
University Assistant in Informatics
The group is part of the Institute of Informatics-Systems, Faculty of Technical Sciences (in March 2013 the group will new be led by Prof. Dr. Martin Pinzger). The position is a full time position and the minimum salary is 2.532 Euro before taxes (14 times a year). The starting date is 1st March 2013. Positions are for excellent students who want to obtain a PhD in Computer Science only.
Tasks comprise:
• Contributing to the research and teaching if the Software Engineering Research Group
• Research with the goal to submit a PhD thesis within the duration of the contract
• Engagement in administrative and organizational tasks of the institute
The Software Engineering Research Group is doing research and teaching of methods, techniques, and tools to improve the development and evolution of software systems. The current research topics are: software evolution analysis, program understanding, software quality analysis, software testing, and collaborative software engineering. We are young and successful team that is cooperating with a number of national and international partners in research and industry on these topics.
Requirements for candidates are:
• Completed Master in Computer Science
• Strong background in one or more of the following topics
o Software design and implementation
o Software maintenance and evolution
o Software quality analysis
o Social and/or cognitive aspects of software engineering
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Motivation to learn German (to get involved into teaching)
Desired are:
• Strong social and communication skills
• Research and work experience in industry
• Teaching experience
